Why Create for Yourself?

As a full-time Filmmaker and Photographer, I'm always filming or taking photos for a client to use for their business or personal use. Since all my time was invested in helping someone else create their goals and visions, rarely did I create content that I was passionate about. It's so easy to get burned out on creating when we're not doing what we love to do, and I know many Filmmakers and Photographers who have completely stepped away from their art to pursue something else because they lost their love for their art.

So my encouragement is to always take a few days a month to spend time on a project that you love and that you're passionate about. Make a short film with some friends, take some photos while out on the lake, whatever it is that you love to capture.

It's important to feel motivated and inspired in your career. Your job shouldn't just be a source of income. If you don't enjoy what you do, you'll end up missing out on your life. So always make sure your take time to revisit the content to enjoy creating to keep that passion burning strong!
